Products: Flexible Packaging, Sealers, & Sorbents

Flexible Packaging: Mylar® Bags, Stand Up Pouches, Vacuum Bags & Much More

Flexible packaging has become increasingly popular with brand owners and consumers for its many advantages over rigid packaging. These include space savings, shipping savings, source reduction, and materials savings, all while providing excellent product protection via high barrier materials that block light, moisture, oxygen, and contaminants. This format appeals to consumers looking for on-the-go convenience, and brands appreciate the reduction in materials for both economic and environmental reasons.

IMPAK serves industries from pharmaceutical brands who need sterile, high barrier packaging, to food and beverage brands looking to stand out on shelves and deliver convenience. Flexible packaging is especially popular with subscription service brands who have a green initiative and benefit from lighter weight packaging that saves in shipping costs.

Popular flexible packaging options include stand up pouches, Mylar® foil pouches, Mylar® zipper bags, spout bags, liquid/gel packets, vacuum bags, boiling bags, fin seal bags, foil lined kraft bags, roll stock tubing, and much more. Many of our customers start with a stock order and move to custom printed packaging.

MYLAR® is manufactured by DuPont Teijin Films.

Sealing Equipment

IMPAK Corporation offers an extensive line of sealing equipment, plus the ability to repair and upgrade existing machinery for better performance and greater control. In addition to custom built equipment, we sell vacuum sealers, continuous band sealers, chamber vacuum sealers, portable hand held sealers, large frame circular sealers, tube sealers, cup sealers, and more.

Select models come with a nitrogen flush option. Choose from tabletop and freestanding machines with seal lengths up to 240”. Our new clean-room, validatable machines are available with certification and boast greater precision than every alternative we’ve tested them against.

Sorbents: Desiccants, Oxygen Absorbers, Silica Gel Paper, Indicators, and more...

A sorbent is a material designed to remove undesirable substances, such as moisture, oxygen, or gas, either through adsorption or absorption. Common examples include oxygen absorbers, or oxygen scavengers, which absorb oxygen molecules most typically by way of iron oxidation; and desiccants, which adsorb moisture and/or gas through binding with and trapping the molecules.

IMPAK Corporation is the clearly recognized leader in specialty sorbent production and engineered applications. Our molded desiccant product: CM900, can be engineered and produced to fit into specific applications in the demanding aerospace and medical fields. Other specialty sorbents include our high heat desiccants in capsule form and heat resistant pouches.

Indicators that can reflect moisture content from 5% to 100% as well as an oxygen indicating tablet that will recognize and indicate the presence of oxygen at 0.1% or less are also hallmarks of the technology developed within the company.

How to Choose a High Barrier Bag

High barrier bags are used to preserve and protect products. When paired with an oxygen absorber or desiccant, products enjoy even greater shelf-life and stability. However, selecting the appropriate package is not always as straight forward as it seems.

Right Sealer for Your Setting

Not every Industrial Vacuum Sealer applies to every application. There are different models and types of Vacuum Sealers available, and each one of those sealers has different features that can affect the way a production line works.
