What is Gravure?

Rotogravure ("gravure") vs. Flexographic ("flexo") printing

In the past, gravure print quality was only available at substantial cost. This is not true today. Impak Corporation (sorbentsystems.com) offers gravure quality at OR BELOW flexo prices, both for pre-press costs and material costs.

Gravure printing quality is so far superior to flexographic printing that it just does not make sense not to use it, especially if you can get it at the same price or less.

Unfamiliar with the differences between gravure and flexo? Here is a simple way to compare....look at a photograph printed in a newspaper and compare it to a similar picture printed in a magazine. One looks grainy and the other sharp. One looks close to the true colors and the other IS the true color. One allows you to figure out what it should look like, and the other is crystal clear.

Now imagine the consumer looking at your package. Which level of quality do you want to determine the consumer's first impression of your product?

The question is not "Can I afford gravure quality?"
The question is now "Can I afford NOT to have gravure quality?"
